We are a privately run, professional but very personal architectural and land/building surveying company operating across London and the South East from our base in Kent.
Chris Burke, the owner operator, brings over 30 years of experience having studied at Southbank University and served his apprenticeship at Wandsworth Borough Council where he learned what is required to make his plans, surveys and schemes meet local authority approvals and meet building regulation standards
Flair in design is the main feature of the service he offers and his ‘hands-on' attention to detail is a key measure of the company’s success
Planning permission is the consent of your local authority on a proposed building project and is in place to deter inappropriate development. The building of a new dwelling, or extensive changes to existing buildings, usually requires planning permission. By understanding the Clients vision, practical requirements and budget, we translate an idea into a physical design or building product using specialist software and knowledge. Whether this is a traditional sketch route or using state of the art 3D modelling we are able to realise any buildings full potential.
Building regulations approval is different to planning permission and you may need both for your project. The UK Building regulations is part of the building act with set specific standards for the design and construction of buildings. The detailed requirements are scheduled within 16 separate headings.
We can provide measured building surveys. This accurate record of a property, structure or land involves showing all the structural elements and architectural features. There is increasing recognition that Measured Surveys have an additional role to play in the establishment and maintenance of estate and building information systems.
A topographical survey (also known as a topographical land survey or topo for short) is a detailed geometric survey of an area of land.
A survey is typically undertaken using a range of surveying equipment including total stations, GPS equipment, handheld lasers, and tape measures.
Following the site survey work, a suite of drawings are produced in CAD (Computer Aided Design) format. We offer a range of drawing types including plans, elevations, and sections. These can then be used as a basis for your proposed designs.
Our Setting Out Engineers work across the country providing a range of different setting out surveys. Below are a few examples of how we have helped construction run smoothly:
We can help you create a well-designed, cleverly thought-out extra space Before you begin any work on your loft conversion's interior design, it's vital to get not just the structure right, but also your budget, the room's configuration and the position of windows.
A single storey extension is the perfect way to create extra living space in your home, while transforming your space to better suit your lifestyle. Whether you're considering a side return extension or a rear extension, it's the perfect spot for a new, open plan living, kitchen and dining area that make for perfect family spaces and, of course, are so beloved by potential future buyers.
Renovating a house is an exciting, potentially profitable, project. From discovering original features or the chance to put your own stamp on something or perhaps the best route to getting a bigger house in a better area than you would otherwise be able to afford.
There is often an opportunity to unlock hidden value in your buildings or site. We have experience of dealing with the local Planning Authorities in the south east . If you have ever passed a site and wondered "How on earth did they manage to get Planning Permission there?" the answer is likely to be that they used a professional team with local knowledge who doggedly knocked down one obstacle after another to obtain permission. We can be trusted to deliver planning success, together with our consultants/associates
